Coin Counts

It is ever more clear that there are a multitude of problems with the IWON accounting of even individual coins accumulation. That is exacerbated by the absolute certainty that some of the individual coins are not being properly credited in the MVP races, and possibly not to the team for which one plays. I have had a personal case of near-certainty that my first day of play in January did not add to the team total, and wound up leaving, then re-joining Tigers in order to gain the certainty that they were from that point, credited. Although the team feed has improved so greatly that it now has become useful, there is still such a lack of transparency in the individual totals versus the credits awarded the team from those individuals, that I feel a need to push an earlier informal proposal for a solution to this issue.

This proposal has the advantage of allowing individual players to monitor their contributions to the team. That will relieve us, and IWON, of the vast number of complaints about what those contributions are. Better, when there is a problem, if this proposal is carried through to include the daily totals, both the date of the problem, and the extent of the problem, become visible to the individual. That is a detail of vast import in defining the cause of the problem and seeking to resolve it. It would allow the individual to file a useful complaint - errr, "question" with support, and allow them to look at a specific portion of the log for confirmation or explanation.

Following is the text of the question filed to IWON support:

'090108-002647'

Highlighted by recent problems with team credit for individual player coins, we need a new tool from IWON. I suggest on the profile page, near the Team Name link, that those who are members of teams have a gadget added to show the current (MTD) coin credit contributed to the team by that player. Ideally, it would have a popup either showing or offering, a table by date of the days that month, with a coin total contributed for each.

That would relieve your support of the uncertainty of whether an individual's coins were credited for a given day, and would allow the player, upon review, to specify precisely the date in question, together with any supporting evidence (s)he may offer that the total is incorrect. The elimination of numerous ill-founded, or ill-documented, complaints that I know are being filed on this very issue, would offset the work involved in installing that feature.

Since there are most assuredly some of those complaints that are indeed well-founded, whether or not well-documented, those would be visible to address, leading possibly to getting the numbers right, and the process for accumulating the numbers right, for all time. Sorry, that sounds as though it might threaten downsizing the support staff - but there are so many other problems that require focused effort, that there is surely no immediate danger of staff cuts due to this implementation.

My next step is to see if some Team Founders and/or leaders from other teams will join Tigers in pushing this suggestion (unless I find a better suggestion from them, or other reader's comments).

Conley, While I believe the gadget to be a great idea I just don't see iWon acting upon it.

Their system is "perfect" for them right now. They bear no responsibility and assume no liabilty for ANYTHING! They will decide the winner(s) each month, and that is no different than in the "brick and mortar world". The sanctioning body makes and enforces their rules. With the lack of transparency though it doesn't do a single thing avoid any hint(s) of impropriety, nor does it establish credibility and solidify a reputation. It only has the opposite effects.

I don't know if you are interested or care, (it really doesn't matter to me either way), but I want to share the following with you;

" Thanks again iWon. NOT!!!! Once again, my team failed to receive credit for coins that I earned yesterday 1/27/9. My calculations tell me that Make A Wish Foundation should have received 1,220,200 coins from my contribution, (1 million-VideoPoker, 200K-SpoongeBobCollapse, 20K-Ask.com searches, 200-Spin2Win). Based on using your end of day figures from Monday 1/26/9 showing me as team MVP, and then earning the 1.2202 million on Tuesday, January 27, (this is by my own personal accounting AND iWon's count of my overall achievements for the day which were in 100% agreement), I should have been shown/credited with 31,121,300 Coins Earned for team at the close of that days counts! The following should go without saying, but I AM going to state it anyway because you just DO NOT seem to get it. At the end of Tuesday, 1/27/9, I wasn't showing as team MVP.

Go ahead Tim, Marie, and Ben laugh it up. I guess you can continue to ignore me as you all did in December when I was also CHEATED out of the chance to be awarded our team's MVP crown by this site! There were at least 3 other, (possibly 5 or more), team members besides myself that earned more coins than the team member awarded the crown for December. That was a travesty and completely dis-respects every member on this site. Perhaps none of you understand that it also displays how very little you respect your own selves, I don't know.

HERE IS WHAT I DO KNOW. While I might have been born at night it wasn't last night. Your site rules and/or terms & agreements mention no class action lawsuits (instead you want arbitration on an individual case basis) it was put to you after September's fiasco, "bring on the arbitrators". I KNOW how much didn't get credited to the team from my contribution yesterday, and it needs to be corrected immediately not after month's end when you are doing the monthly team verifications. An acknowledgement should also be posted so that we may see that it has taken place. I KNOW how to contact both of my State Senators, both of the New York State Senators - including the new one, both States Attorney Generals offices - I already have the complaint form in hand for New York's A.G. office internet division, my U. S. House of Represenatives member, the New York State charities board or commitee whatever its official name is, and ALL of the major network news affiliates in my city (if the two that Barry Diller was affiliated with are not interested in the story I feel that the others will be that much more hungry to run with it). I KNOW that the official rules claiming we bear "no liability" and "no responsibility" regarding basically any and all things on site will not hold up to the scrutiny of the Federal Trade Commission or the U. S. Department of Justice based on the statements/inquiries/requests of site members, and on the proportionally few occasions where responses/acknowledgements are "granted" to the members/players with conflicting details/solutions/answers given by team_iWon members and Tim Allen. The size of the dossier and amout of documentation I have compiled over the length & duration of this team charity challenge would probably surprise you. It amazes me, and should make any sane and logical person ill.

I love the games offered for play on this site! I am WAY PAST the point of having ANY affinity for the stupid and disrespectful psyco-babble & mind games that spew forth from iwon employees. Can't we PLEASE solve/resolve this most recent foul committed against MY TEAM, (and by proxy myself), in a pleasant, compasionate and reasonable manner? Tim, Marie, Ben, and all site employees (as well as your parent company's people) I don't want to be "cynical", mean, nasty, rude, or acrid but I am VERY tired of being ignored when my team and I are the ones the one being crapped on. I have had ABSOLUTELY no luck with emails to customer support. You have my telephone number please feel free to call me even if it is just to tell me get lost sucker!

I don't want to have to resort to following up on all that I "KNOW". I am not afraid to "pull the trigger" or "blow the whistle" though. I just don't want to when this could be taken care of in a method or fashion that is much more of a "win/win situation" for everybody concerned! I am out of options though, and feeling like a small number of members receive special treatment and the bulk of us are just single digits in a bottomline total, (an analogy springs to mind although it's not a very good one). It's like the bulk of us are chum for the sharks and the small number/special ones are being served shark steaks in a five star restaurant. A better one might be if you've ever been really sick and felt like you would have to get better to die. I am appealing to any sense that any of you might have regarding fairness, righteousness, and justice. PLEASE and THANK YOU!
~~~ Morrison"
I posted the above plea on the 28th of January to marie's blog, randi's blog, and opened two support submissions with iWon. I then posted to the profiles of tkallen, marie, ben, talia, and another "i(didn't)Won_team_member" that escapes me presently, to follow up on the ref #s, but SO WHAT!. I guess both reference numbers from my submissions don't mean Jack Diddly Hoo Hoo if they don't work them! I've heard nothing/nada/nil/zip/bubkas/ZERO. I guess it is time to alert the media! See my follow up posts to talia and tim (tkallen) profile notes.
Well, if nothing else I hope you got a laugh or two at my expense, or that at least it was an enjoyable read. - Tonseventy1
While I am not quite as eloquent or vocal as tonseventy. I gree with them 100%. We all work very hard for our respective teams. Subjecting ourselves to countless ads thrown at us, an inordinate amount of frozen screens, vaults(in certain games), and any number of other mishaps and misinformation. Here is a copy of the last two comments I have sent Iwon.
Incident:090130-001157
I have been a faithful player for several months now. Even made MVP for last month (Dec). Which means that I am playing every day for hours per day. Last month I noticed that there was a varience between my actual score and my reported score. I attributed it to unknown causes. I wasn't too worried since I had the MVP spot fairly secured for the month. Now this month (Jan), I again noticed a difference. I started the month with a total coin count of 11. So I know there should be an 11 coin difference. After the first week I noticed that the difference had already climbed to 2210 coin. It started to concern me because the race for MVP was very close. Now almost 4 weeks in and the difference has risen to 5330 coin. Now it may sound PETTY to you but for me it is a BIG deal. I have worked very hard this month to maintain my MVP status but I keep falling behind. Now I find that I cannot keep up due to the difference in coin. With the MVP race even closer the 5330 coin would make the difference between MVP or not. Take this morning for example. The MVP for our team had a total of 35,492,450. An excellent score no doubt. My score on my home page read 35,495,830. Yet I was NOT MVP. It is VERY disheartening to work SO HARD and not get the proper credit for it. Since I know that you keep computer logs, I know there is a way for you to investigate this problem. I am hoping that you are able to do so and resolve this conflict. Thank you for your time and effort in advance and hope to hear from you soon.
Incident:090201-002895
To the Powers That Be.
This is day one of the month (Feb) and already I am in the hole. I finish the day with 1,223,700 coin, as posted on my home page. Our team MVP has a total of 1,222,370. Now as you SHOULD be able to see there is a continuing problem from last month. I would really appreciate it if you would look into this and resolve it. It has already cost me the MVP for January. I don't want a repeat this month. TOO LATE, It has already cost me the MVP for the month of Feb. I am familiar with your autoresponse and that is NOT satisfactory to me. I am going to attempt to quit my team then rejoin to see if that solves the issue. I DO expect you to reimburse me for the TOTAL coins that I will be losing by doing this.(1,223,700) As an afterthought. The Tell a Friend only gives 1000 coin instead of 3000. Yet more coins that I am being shorted. I await your answer.
It seems that I am the latest victim of the Great Iwon Coin Robbery. It is 12:12 pm est feb. 4 2009. I just finished maxing for the day. My total coin count is 4,897,000. At the moment I am MVP for the team, which means that my score is showing for all to see. My score that is showing is 4,896,000. As you can see, there is a 1000 coin difference. Add that to all of the other coins that have come up missing from other individuals and the total is quite large. Aren't you tired of hearing all of us complain, or do you just not care. Lets look at it this way. You put the games here. How? By playing the ads from the sponsors. We, in turn, see the ads. The object is to keep us in front of the monitors as long as possible. So as to see as many ads as possible. Now what happens when enough of us get ticked off and quit coming to the site. Your sponsors are going to question whether or not they want to invest money with you anymore. Lo and behold, suddenly you are out of a job. Why? Because you were too arrogant and stubborn to just say "Gee, sorry everyone. There was a glitch in the system. We are fixing the problem." It seems to me that this approach would be a lot more beneficial and cost efficient than the alternative.
